You have bought short before. You filed it down before you could live in it.
"These are absolutely not 'short' 😭 I can't even function."
"I have to trim every set"
"I hear the nails sizes are not wide enough on the thumbs. Do any of you that wear super short have a size 0 or 1 thumb nail size?"
"My thumbs are a 0 but I had to widen it by pressing against hit glass bottle. I have short & wide nailbeds"
"reshape, extreme prep, blow dry, top coat.... I'm down"
Across the sources we read, make them shorter came up eighty-one times. It is the single loudest unmet request in this category, and it has been sitting there in public for years.
The word is not doing its job any more. So we stopped using it as an argument.
It was never you. You were sold a word.
Short is not a measurement. Nobody agrees where it starts, everyone measures from somewhere different, and the label goes on the box regardless. You have been filing new sets down because the word was doing no work, not because your standards were unreasonable.
Claims are exactly what you have stopped believing. So the answer on this page is a comparison instead: same finger, same light, length as the only thing that changes.
01
Put ours next to their short and you will not need the label
One frame, two nails, no numbers anywhere. Your eyes do the arithmetic in about a second, which is roughly a second faster than any claim we could write.
There is a reason theirs still reads long: the category tends to build short by shrinking a long nail, so the proportions come along for the ride. Ours is drawn short from the start.
02
32 nails, 16 sizes. Fit once and those numbers are yours.
Every set being extra short is what makes the assortment possible: 32 nails across 16 sizes, enough that each finger gets its own answer instead of the nearest available one.
The first fitting is the only fitting you ever do. After that you know your numbers, and every future set goes on already knowing where it lands.
03
Beautiful hands that still open a can
The trade you have quietly accepted is beauty for capability: a week of holding your phone at an angle, opening cans with a spoon, typing with the pads of your fingers, fishing a card out of a wallet with two hands.
Extra short deletes the trade, and deletes it on day one. Nothing to file, trim or widen before the set is wearable. The category quietly charges you labour to finish a job it did not finish itself.
What we believe about this
-
Short should mean short
If a word needs quotation marks to be accurate, it has stopped being a description. We would rather show you the length than describe it.
-
A set should arrive finished
No filing, no trimming, no widening against a hot bottle. If it needs homework before you can live in it, it was not finished when it was sold.
-
Pretty should not cost you your hands
Nails you love and hands that work are not a trade anybody needed to make. They were just never offered together.
We could put a millimetre number on this. We are not going to.
Numbers are how the word got meaningless in the first place, because everyone measures from somewhere different. Put ours next to the set you already own, in the same light, on the same finger. That is the only measurement that has ever helped you.
32 nails, 16 sizes, three sheets of tabs. No glue anywhere.

Questions people actually ask
Asked by people who have filed down every set they have ever bought.
How short is extra short?
Barely past your fingertip, out of the box. We deliberately do not publish a millimetre figure, because everyone measures from somewhere different and that is exactly how the word stopped meaning anything. The comparison above is the honest version.
Do I need to file them down first?
No. That is the entire point. They arrive at the length you meant, with nothing to trim, reshape or widen before you can wear them.
Will they fit my nails?
32 nails in 16 sizes, enough to cover both hands and give each finger its own size rather than the nearest one. You match once, write the numbers down, and every set after that is quick.
Can I type, cook and work in them?
That is what they are built for. Extra short clears a keyboard, a card in a wallet, an earring back and a can tab.
How long do they stay on?
Up to five days, with the right prep. Clean, dry nails and a full thirty-second press on each one.
