Nobody in those threads separates the nail from the adhesive out loud. So a whole category gets condemned for what one part of it does, and the woman asking gets told to wait it out bare.

Should I be wearing anything at all right now?
We are not the right people to answer that, and anyone answering it confidently without seeing your nails is guessing. What we can do is describe what ours does, so you can take an accurate picture of it to whoever you do ask.
Will these damage my nails further?
Tabs are gentler than glue, and they are not damage-free. Nothing gets filed for grip, nothing gets dissolved, nothing gets pried. Worn back to back with no breaks, any adhesive can lift layers, which is why we talk about the wear window rather than pretending there isn't one.
How do they come off?
